The GTF Institute at Oxford began this week at Christ Church College, one of the 37 colleges that make up the University of Oxford. “Liturgy, Spirituality and the Practice of Ministry” is the theme of this week’s Institute which has been organized with the support of the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education.
Two courses are offered this week, one focused on liturgy and spirituality, with Canon Angela Tilby and The Revd Canon Dr. Robin Gibbons as faculty tutors, and the other focused on the practice of ministry, with Dr. John H. Morgan as faculty tutor. Canon Tilby is Diocesan Canon of Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford and Director of the Oxford Theology Summer Schools. Canon Gibbons is Director of Studies for Theology and Religion in the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education as well as Pastoral Director of the Oxford Theology Summer School, and, at the GTF, Fellow and Alexander Schmemann Professor of Eastern Christianity. Dr. Morgan is Karl Mannheim Professor of the History and Philosophy of the Social Sciences at the GTF.
