This week in Oxford, England, we hosted the doctoral defense for The Rev. DeDe Duncan-Probe of the Foundation House Ph.D. program. We are happy to announce her successful defense and her new title of The Rev. Dr. DeDe Duncan-Probe! Please join us in congratulating her on this accomplishment!
She defended her thesis entitled, “An Examination of Feminine Articulation within ‘The Cloud of Unknowing’,” on the campus of Christ Church, Oxford, before a defense panel chaired by The Rev’d Canon Dr. Robin Gibbons of the GTF and Oxford, Dr. John H. Morgan of the GTF, and Dr. Elena Ene D-Vasilescu of Oxford. (Doctoral defenses for GTF students may be held at Christ Church, Oxford, each year during the Oxford Theology Summer School. Dr. Gibbons serves as a member of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Oxford and Pastoral Director of the Oxford Theology Summer School, as well as Dean of Studies of Foundation House/Oxford and Alexander Schmemann Professor of Eastern Christianity at the GTF; Dr. Morgan serves as Karl Mannheim Professor of the History and Philosophy of the Social Sciences at the GTF; and Dr. D-Vasilescu serves as a member of the Faculty of History at the University of Oxford as well as a Research Fellow and Tutor in Theology.
