We are pleased to announce that theological scholar, The Rev. Dr. C. Anthony Hunt, will be Commencement Speaker in May 2015 for our annual commencement ceremony. Dr. Hunt is a scholar, leader in the United Methodist Church, and a long-time professor at the Graduate Theological Foundation and St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland. He holds the title of E. Franklin Frazier Professor of African American Studies here at the GTF. In 2015, he will also be inducted as a Fellow of the Graduate Theological Foundation. This title is the highest recognition the GTF awards to faculty members who have distinguished themselves as scholars.
About serving as commencement speaker, Dr. Hunt has stated, “I am tremendously honored by the invitation to present the 2015 Graduation Address, and to be inducted as a Fellow of the Graduate Theological Foundation. I am grateful to the administration, faculty, students and alumni/ae for my selection. Over a number of years, the Foundation has been one of my intellectual homes, first as a doctoral student and then as a member of the faculty. The quality and rigor of interreligious theological inquiry and discourse through teaching and research that I’ve found to be extant at the Foundation has had a profound and lasting impact on my work in the church and academy.”
More details about Dr. C. Anthony Hunt and our 2015 commencement ceremony will be available in the coming weeks.
