We are pleased to announce that the Graduate Center for Pastoral Logotherapy has recently become an accredited Member of the International Association of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis at the Viktor Frankl Institute in Vienna, Austria.  The Graduate Center for Pastoral Logotherapy is the first graduate-level program to combine the academic study of Dr. Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy and pastoral counseling.  Founded in 2012, the Center is directed by Dr. Ann V. Graber, Professor of Pastoral Logotherapy at the GTF and a recognized authority on Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy. Graduate Theological Foundation students preparing to complete, or having already completed, a degree through the Graduate Center for Pastoral Logotherapy, are qualified to become accredited individual members of the International Association.  For more details about this new accreditation, please visit this recent article.

We offer congratulations to Dr. Ann Graber who recently received a special recognition from the Viktor Frankl Institute Vienna for her work in promoting logotherapy.  See Faculty Notes for details.

The accreditation of the Graduate Center for Pastoral Logotherapy is a wonderful milestone. My class with Dr. Graber was one of the most valuable courses that I took for my doctorate! It was a life-changing and I use the principles that I learned in teaching my psychology classes at Pepperdine University, Washington DC campus. Congratulations!

  • I am overjoyed to hear of the accreditation for GTF and Dr. Graber for this significant achievement. The Graduate Center for Pastoral Logotherapy will be that much more of a significant contributor in preparing students because of this international accreditation.
While at GTF in my doctoral classes, I was honored to have mentored under Dr. Graber and gleaned from her wisdom in the fields of Logotherapy and Pastoral Counseling. I give this program and GTF my highest praise for what I have learned and continue to apply in the work of my pastoral marriage and family therapy practice.

Thank you, Dr. Richard Gathro, for your kind comments. I well remember you also and your contributions to the class on Viktor Frankl and Logotherapy — even though it occurred in 2005, sponsored by GTF. The intrinsic value of Dr. Frankl’s Logotherapy lies in its ability to bridge disciplines, cultures, and faith traditions. That is what we hope to accomplish at the Graduate Center for Pastoral Logotherapy, especially now that it is accredited by the Viktor Frankl Institute, Vienna.

  • Ann V. Graber says:

To Dr. Trey Kuhne: Your enthusiastic comments about the accreditation of the Graduate Center for Pastoral Logotherapy by the Viktor Frankl Institute Vienna are genuinely appreciated. It is wonderful to hear that your studies in Logotherapy and Pastoral Counseling are valuable in your practice. Best wishes!
