We welcome Dr. Gale Yee, Nancy W. King Professor of Biblical Studies at the Episcopal Divinity School, as the 2015 Runcie Lecturer in our annual Convocation Lecture Series. She will deliver the Runcie Lecture on the evening of May 7 and will be awarded the Krister Stendahl Medal in Biblical Studies on May 8 during the GTF’s commencement. Dr. Yee’s lecture, entitled, “From the Bottom Up: Poverty and Inequality in Ancient Israel and Today,” will address the social and systemic conditions of poverty and inequality in ancient Israel. Her lecture will also provide suggestions to help rectify these inequities today.

The lecture will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel, to be available to the public in mid to late May.

More information on Dr. Gale Yee and the upcoming commencement in May will be included in our April, May, and June issues of this newsletter. To read about her work in the field of biblical studies, please visit the GTF blog.
