Degree candidates planning to graduate in 2016 should be aware of some crucial details related to the graduation festivities in May of next year.
Day of Convocation:
All graduating students are required to attend the Day of Convocation (link opens PDF) on May 5, 2016, to come together with their fellow GTF degree candidates. Activities will include brief student presentations of research completed through a project, thesis, or coursework, along with the awarding of a graduation stole during a ceremony that will close the day. Details on this event are available on our Convocation and Graduation page. Click on the link in the first bullet point to open a PDF containing information on the Day of Convocation.
The commencement will be held on the morning of Friday, May 6, at the Century Center in South Bend, Indiana. Students are expected to follow a specific schedule as there will be a walk-through of the ceremony prior to the arrival of guests for the formal ceremony. Students’ names and degrees will be read aloud, providing students the opportunity to submit any corrections to GTF staff regarding the pronunciation of their names.
Students must be certain of all requirements that must be fulfilled, and their corresponding deadlines, in order to be eligible to graduate in 2016.
